I've heard about all the compatability problems with
service pack 2. Especially the games. If I wanted to
avoid that, is it possible to uninstall SP2?

During installation of service pack 2 setup should ask if you want to backup
your system. I can't remember now whether the default option was 'backup' or
whether the user has to stipulate backup. Either way select backup sp that
the setup backs up all of the relevant files. Once this has been done the
service pack will continue to install. Should you then have any problems and
wish to uninstall the service pack you should find the option in the
Add/Remove section of control panel. Just look for Windows Service pack 2.
Obviously if the backup option is 'not' selected either by default or by the
user you will not be able to use the add/remove option.
Another alternative is to create a system restore point prior to installing
the service pack - SP2 should do this automatically, but an extra restore
point will do no harm. Then install the service pack. If you have any
problems just use system restore to restore your system back to a period
prior to when you installed the service pack.

Default is back up and there is no option to not back up. I don't know what
Sandman was on when he said "No".

I'm not so sure. I just saw a link at Microsoft's site
for info about how to uninstall Service Pack 2. I don't
know where it is, because I'm trying to find why my
connection dropped to 28.8 after installing Service Pack
2. I have two computers hooked up to 2 different phone
lines & only the one with Service Pack 2 is doing this.
My ISP says it's not a problem on their end. PLus, it's
alway 28.8, nothing higher & nothing lower. Any ideas?

I fixed it. Had to reinstall my modem driver. It's a
Blaster V.92, if anyone else encounters this problem.
Thanks.
