Outlook XP with Exchange 2000 - An associate is setting
up her Out of Office Assistant and is trying to add a
rule through the Out of Office Assistant to forward all e-
mail messages to another associate while she is out of
the office. When turning this rule on she receives the
following message: "Changes to the rule could not be
saved. There is not enough memory or the rules are too
complex. Try deleting some rules." She doesn't have any
other rules created. This is the only one.

Did you find an answer to this issue? I'm having the same problem except that
I'm using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003.

Can you create and save other rules ? It is possible that the Exchange
Administrator has disempowered you.

Thanks for your reply. I am the administrator and I used mdbvu32.exe to find
that the user had created a rule for every single e-mail recipient she had.
She had over 100 rules! I told her to delete some rules and she was able to
create the OOF rule. Thanks again for your reply.

I had this same problem. Turns out there were too many people on the distribution list. If you have a lot of names (somewhere around 15-20) break the list into two or more lists and recreate the same rule with the same parameters several times.
