Problems with oversized files on XP

I've got videofiles that I want to give to a friend. The problem is they are
too big for my DVD and I can't Zip them since the file size is too big.

They are about 5 GB long.

Any suggestions as to what to do?

An alternative.

Assuming you have a 100 Mbps ethernet local area network and your
friend has a laptop, you could connect his computer to your network
and copy the file over in about 9 minutes.

It will be much slower over a wireless network.
