problems with Out of Office Assistant

I have message typed in for my out off office message &
switched on "I am currently Out of the Office". However,
when my customer send me email, they are not getting my
out of office response.

Exchange version 5.5, Outlook 2000

Have Microsoft Exchange Server listed as a service in my
mail profile.

Have no rules set.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

ooooooops I made a mistake it is affecting
external clients... (ie.. mail from hotmail account to
Company mailbox)
