Hi Tone1969,
Since you mentioned WinMX, if that was the source of some
of the programs or updates, then it could be the cause of it..

| hello Jimmy S;
|
| thanks for all your help, I've done everything you've suggested and learnt a lot. unfortunately the game still does not work.
everything is set as it should be. I'm thinking something is SNAFU with the game, anytime I try to run anything 'Max' related from
the disk or the program file folder I get a HUGE jump in my PF usage history (in the performance tab, windows task manager) - even
when I try to run a mpeg file. its jumps from a regular 180-200MB usage to 1.96GB usage. something is not right....
|
| I'm thinking I have a virus or something? the game used to work great. my No One Lives Forever works fine. I do use WinMX a
lot. maybe I've got a bug. I use Norton and AdAware religiously and I've used the housecall and spybot a few time.
|
| any suggestions you have would be appreciated,
| thanks again.
