Hi,

I am having problems accessing directories from one XP home to another.
I keep getting the error:
Acess violation. I have changed the protections on the shared directories to
allow modification by network
users, to no avail. Do accounts need to be setup on both machines to allow
network users access ?

Also, an account with administrator privileges can't change permissions
for the local directory
/Documents and Settings/All Users. I find that very odd. Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Bill

Yes

All users is a system account. Why do you want to change it in the first
place?

I was trying to change the permissions to allow access for a network
backup. The desktop has backup
device and I was trying backup the laptop. Adding the proper user accounts
should make the change
unnecessary.
