Hi

I seem to have started having problems with IE since last night.

My computer is normally on 24/7 and is connected to the internet through a
Linksys Router with a Firewall enabled I also am running Norton Internet
Security. After 7 or 8 hours of use I can not use IE as it doesn't seem to
be able to connect to the internet I have tried disabling Norton Internet
Security but that makes no difference I also can not log on my router
through the normal IP address (even restarting the router makes no
difference).

I can still send emails so I am assuming that there is a problem with IE.

I have done a full antivirus check with Norton and also a Spyware check with
Ad-Aware I have also use the Microsoft site and checked for the Sasser Worm
which allegedly I don't have.

If I restart my computer I can get the connection up and running again.

Any ideas gratefully received.

I also have a Linksys Router and a DSL line. I was
getting the same thing you have. I cured it by changing
the "keep alive" setting on the Router. I changed it
from the default setting to the 'once every 20 seconds'
setting. Since you are still getting email, this could
be the solution because the email connection is NOT
running all the time, just when it goes out for new email.
When it does this - the connection is re-established for
the email program.

From time to time I have to also reset the Router by
changing it to a completely different time zone;
hitting "Store"; and then changing back to my own
timezone. This was recommended by Linksys when I first
had the problem.

Hi,

I normally have some p2p software on the go so the connection is normally
live and when I was suffering with the problem (i'm waiting for it to rear
it's ugly head as I type) the p2p software was still transmitting and
receiving files too.

I have had problems with a previous Linksys Router but I RMA'd it and
swapped it for a WAG54G and although I have to reset it once in a while it
has been fairly reliable so far (touch wood).

Thanks for your reply.
