problems with DOS based applications

when i try executing one of the DOS based applications
windows xp tells me this: "c:\windows\system32
\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications." What should i
do to correct this problem?

Start by having a little patience and *not* reposting questions after
five minutes. People here are not MS staff hanging on line waiting for
your questions. They are all around the world, and it may be 24 hours
before the right person to respond gets messages and notices your
