Problems with "Date()" &"Time()"

I am working an MS Access db for controlling contractor access to controlled facilities. Throughout the db I use the function "Date()" and "Time()". Recently the db program has been producing errors that basically state the functions are not recognized. The same error has occurred in two different developing environments. I would appreciate any ideas? Thanks!! Ge
 
When the common, built-in functions produce errors, this is typically a
