Recently purchased a new PC with Access 2003 - had numerous problems running
Access 97 db's, so installed 97 - had numerous problems then, then researched
and trouble shooted - finally have both versions available, can open a 97 db
in 97 version just fine. Can create a 2003 db in 2003 just fine.

Problem now with both versions: can create tables, forms, reports, macros,
modules, and queries. BUT CANNOT run a make-table or an append query (can do
select, update, and delete) - Access just freezes up when trying to append
the table. Any suggestions?

FDISK c:\

Rule of thumb with Multi-Access Versions is to install the lowest version
before the higher version. It always seems to behave a little better that
way for all versions. So, simply wipe your hard drive and start over. Maybe
back it up, frist :D

Consider partitioning the drive so that 97 is on one part, and 03 on
another. Share a data drive, between the two..

Take a drive image after installing windows, such that you can quickly
revert to that point, then install software.

Good luck,
