I seem to have a problem when i have logged into one profile, then go to
switch to another in the welcome screen, it will not load the second profile
unless the one that is logged in is unlogged. This happens with both admin
and general accounts,
Ive tried removing accountas and recreating them but this does not solve the
probem

What happens when you try to switch users? Do you stay on the first user
account screen? or do you go to the welcome screen?

I leave one user logged in, then use the switch user facility to try and
change accounts, it gets to the welcome screen and then when you click on the
desired user it just flips back over and over again not leaving the welcome
screen. It makes no attemt to load the desired second profile and just sits
at the welcome screen, you can log back into the account already active and
then log that out, i can then log into the other account, it just will not
let me have 2 accounts logged in at the same time

Okay, try this first. Disable the fast user switch from the account that
works. Then reboot, then from an account that has admin. privileges, enable
fast user switch again.
Also, insufficient memory will cause the fast user switch to not work, as
well as some third party programs. Here is an article that explaines.

Also, go into your display option>screen saver tab and disable the resume
on welcome, which in order to do that, you have to have no screen saver
selected.

Right, ive logged into the admin acount and disabled fast switching, i than
also removed the screen saver bit, i then rebooted and logged back into
admin, i re-enabled fast switching and tried again, it still dont work.
Gutted.

Has anyone got any more ideas??

Did you click on the link I provided? There may be something in the
article.
Also, try creating yet another account, a third one, and see if you can
switch users from the third account. If you can, then the account that is
not working is corrupt.

I had a quick read of the article that you linked to and i should not have
any problems, i tried making another user account and that didnt work either,
Im stumped.

Im running

AMD 3400-64bit
512Mb Ram
Win XP Home SP2

Where else can i ask for help?? ave you ever heard of anything similar before?
cheers for helping

No I have not heard of that, but that doesn't mean much, as I'm just a
regular schmoe. But there is one more thing to check. Go to control
panel>administrative tools>services...scroll down to terminal services and
make sure that it is started, and set to automatic. I don't remember if you
stated that fast user switch worked at one point and now doesn't work, or if
this just started. If it just started, try doing a System Restore by going
back to a day prior to the problem. But check the services first. Post
back.

It used to work correctly but then suddenyl stopped, i cant remeber when it
stopped working though, ill have to try a system restore i think, i tried
setting the terminal services to auto, i then restarted and it still does it.
beggining to get on my nerves now, will try system restore and if that dont
work will do a reinstall i think.

cheers
