Problems sending emails as another user

I have the current setup: Exchange 2000, Windows 2000 Server as PDC using AD, clients using Outlook 2002

One client machine, Erin, is setup to send/receive emails for two AD users (Erin & John). Erin cannot send emails as John for some reason. Even using the drop down menu and selecting John, Outlook says that it will send as John but doesn't. She can receive emails directed towards John. The only time she is able to send email as John is if she sends it to a single address outside of the domain

Any thoughts?

Did you grant Erin "send as" rights on John's mailbox in ADUC? (view |
advanced features).

Yes, Erin does have mailbox rights to John's exchange email. Should it be the other way around too

Thanks

Specifically, does she have 'send as' rights?

If John doesn't need to send as Erin, no need to add/change anything there.

Send on Behalf of is not what you want, unless you want her name to appear
as the sender once somoene opens the message. You want send as rights - set
them in John's mailbox in ADUC. Not sure why you have her set up to receive
mail sent to his mailbox - shouldn't be necessary if she is opening his
mailbox directly, and will cause dupes.

Nope, that didn't do it. I will keep trying different things.

If there are any suggestions or methods on how to do this, pls feel free to post

TIA

Double check the permissions set in Outlook, as well as on the server....and
how long did you wait before trying? It can take a lil while before the
changes filter through....

Yes, I have a feeling it's the settings within Outlook. Before trying, I waited about 1/2 hour

I will check the settings in Outlook 2002
