You've scanned for virus. Have you also scanned for malware?

Download, update and run the following free programs:
Ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

You might also look in Start > Run > msconfig
the startup tab and check what programs you are running at startup.

Good luck

Hi,

[...]

I ran a virus scan, no virus.

Once the program does open, it runs ok, but getting it to open takes forever.

How to I solve this?

Please respond. THANKS A MILLION!

Have you run a scan looking for spyware?
Try with ad-aware and spybot, after updating them:
Ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

You could also go to Start > Run > msconfig
start up tab
disable all entries and reboot, if the problem disappears, then enable
them one at a time.

I've done all of the above and the problem still exists!! I'm going a bit crazy here.

It's almost like the computer has to "warm up" for 5 minutes after it's turned on and reaches the desktop.

After it does, the applications launch windows equal to the amount of times I'ver clicked on the icon. If I click on OUTLOOK ten times - in five minutes (and it takes that long) up come ten identical OUTLOOK Windows! This happens with all my programs.

Any other ideas?
