Hi,

The Network at my office is having problems with ICS. The
two client PCs can connect through the host with no
problems. However, the host is a different story. It will
be fine for about 30 mins, but will then stop working,
constantly coming up with a 'Page not found' error. The
clients still resolve OK. can anyone shed any light on
this please?

Thanks

Hi, Andy -

If it's an XP Professional machine and it's *not* part of
a Win2k or 2003 domain, disable the DNS Client service on
the machine. What happens is if a DNS server is slow to
respond the service will remove the server from its list
of available DNS servers - and eventually you're left
with none on the list and name resolution quits working.

The DNS Client service isn't required unless you're a
member of a Win2k or later domain.

Hope this helps -
