Problems installing xp pro; "tourW.exe"

When I was installing the XP Pro OS, could not get one file to run and
install. It was "tourW.exe". Finally skipped it and went on with the rest of
the installation. It all went fine, however, now the computer will not
install windows updates, and there are a few other small problems that happen
when installing other software. Does anyone know what "tourW.exe" does and
how I can cure the problem?

to me, it seems the H/w issue.
try out following things...
1. Change the XP disc, try some other disc
2. another issue may be of faulty RAM
