Problems installing update

I am trying to install the update that will protect my computer from the Sasser virus, but it tells me that it can not identify the integrity of the update.inf file. It tells me to make sure that the Cryptographic service is running on the computer, but I don't know how to do that and gives me no instructions on doing it. Please help!

Click start = run and type (services.msc /s) space after msc, scroll down to
the service mentioned, mine is 11 down, right click and select properties
and set to automatic, reboot.
