I tried to install Windows XP Home on a 3 year old IBM
NetVista by booting from the CD. Currently uses Windows
ME. Anyways, it checks the hardware, goes into the
Windows Setup blue screen, prompts about that F6 thing,
and then it freezes!
Same thing if I go into Windows ME, put the CD in and
click on Install Windows XP. It copies all the setup
files, but then when it reboots, it goes into the dos-
based setup screen and it freezes at the same point.
Could it be that the motherboard is too old, or some
other hardware problem? I'm an advanced computer user and
I've never seen anything like this.
