Problems installing Business Contact Manager V2 Update

I downloaded this from the Microsoft website but each time I try to
install I get the following error message 'Business Contact Manager for
Outlook Setup Wizard cannot continue because the installation of
Microsoft SQL Server Engine did not complete successfully.....' The
files are then removed and I must reinstall V1 again. Can anybody offer
a solution?
 
Is your SQL engine enabled and not set to manual or disable in your
services?

After furious head scratching, Farci asked:
