I have facing problems when downloading my email from my
POP3 account.
Whenever I try to send and receive email, the status
remain at 0 % or 1 % and the mail does not get
downloaded.
After 1 or 2 hrs, it will start downloading the mail with
no specific reason.

Again if I try to send/receive mail, the same thing
happens.

I tried scanning for virus's, deleted the accounts and
created them again, reinstalled Outlook etc.

I am still facing this problem.

Does anybody have a clue why this is happening and how to
fix this problem ?

AJ.

Hi,

If you can get at your server directly, take a look at
what's lurking there.

For the last few weeks we've had a particular breed of
SPAM that gums up the works, causing the behavior you
describe (i.e. looonng pause in the middle of download.)
I've never tried waiting an hour; so far we've given up
and killed Outlook after a few minutes.

Interestingly, the message sticks with Outlook 2000,
Outlook Express 5.5, and Outlook Express 6.

The messages that have been screwing us up all contain the
following unusual HTML, which I suspect is the cause:

In tags: (i've omitted the <> to avoid problems in the
newsreader)

img dynsrc=javascript:window.open
('http://82.146.50.41/ws/eBayISAPI.dll/ViewIte
m&item=3437053288&category=95963.html')

Anyone who can confirm that this is what's screwing us up,
and suggest a workaround?

Some more details which I left out in my last mail:

I am using outlook 2002.

I am experiencing this problem on my main email id from
the server.

I have few other id's on the same server used for some
of my project groups. I have setup differnt accounts for
each of these id's and if I use these accounts to
download mail from these id's, everything is working is
fine.

But the main account for the main email id, continues to
have problems.

I have deleted all accounts and created the main account
again. The problem still persists.

Still trying to find a logic !!!
