I'm trying to e-mail a couple of photos from the "my
pictures" folder. If I right click a photo and then
select "Send to.." then select "mail recipient" a window
pops up asking if I want to shrink the file for e
mailing. I select "make all my files smaller", and then I
click ok. Nothing else happens. My default e-mail program
(MS Outlook) doesn't start, and the file doesn't get any
smaller. It's like nothing happened. When I double click
the photo it opens with Microsoft Picture and Fax Viewer.
I can't send the photo from here either. However, when I
right click the file and select "open with" then
select "Microsoft Picture and Fax Viewer" I can then send
the file via e-mail complete with shrinkage. Why isn't my
e-mail program opening when I click "send to"?

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

Maybe this will restore the resize option.
