Problems connecting to webpages. Please help!

Hi
I've been having this problem for a while now. When I connect to the internet, it'll connect but i 'm not able to open any webpages. ("the page cannot be found") . so i have to try connecting several times until it goes through. it's dial up. i clean up the cookie file and temp files all the time, but still, it won't go through.
Please help. It gets frustrating when you have to dial 10 times (on a good day) to connect!

Review your connection settings. I would call the Internet Service
provider and ask for the correct DNS numbers to use in the connection,
or if they should be automatically assigned.

I had a similar problem in that webpages failed to load until the
seventh or eighth time I tried. I corrected it changing the DNS
numbers.

You can find them right-clicking the connection, choosing properties ,
network tab, selecting TCP/IP and clicking properties.
