PROBLEMS BOOTING UP XP

I have a problem starting my laptop. It was working just fine, and then it
restarted. When it comes back up, it gives me options to either start windows
normally, from the last known good condition, in ms dos, or in safe mode. I
have tried all of these options, but none have worked. All it does is start
up, and sit at the Windows XP screen for about 5 minutes, and then it shuts
down. Please advice.

Have you contacted your laptop manufacturer for any help? Not being able to
access Windows with any of those options would suggest that a 'Repair'
install of XP is needed. Depending on what kind of XP CD you have, please

Get rid of spyware/malware/viruses/trojans
