problems after system restore

for some reson after installing the sp we could no longer get online so after
trying reinstalling the software for comcast cable internet and having their
tech support come out they said to try uninstalling the sp we tryed this and
were rewarded with the Black screen and could not even get to safemode from
there my boyfriend did a system restore ....the problem comes with now a lot
more space is being taken up on my hard drive than there shoud be and the
comp is actting realy bogged down a lot of data was lost we have a about 100
g hard drive and it shows only 10 left we think those files are still there
but can't find them any idieas i'd be greatful

My XP did not meet the problem as you said.
Maybe some softwares on your computer go wrong.
Especially network related ones.
I can tell you this only, because there are hundreds of possibilities.
 
I had the same problem after installing SP2 and having to do a system restore
because my system would not start. My system was sluggish and took forever
to bring up programs. I ended up doing a system defrag and the problem went
away. I have a 200 gig hard drive and it seemed after the system restore
that I had lost a lot of free disk space. After the defrag, everything went
back to "normal", (whatever normal is...lol)

PS....The only problem I have since rolling my system back is I can no longer
do a disk cleanup....and I don't have a clue why.
