Problems After rebuild

Hi I`m stuck.
I`ve rebuilt a PC and installed XP pro.
I have two problems........
1. Both installed internal hard drives in "my computer" are displaying the
incorrect size.
For example, 160 gig HD and only showing 127gig. (Bios displays correct
size in boot up).
2. Can`t access internet with 56k dial up modem.
a)I get the old fashioned electronic dialup and connection sound coming
through speakers as norm.
b)Do not get the 2 flashing TV`s at bottom right corner by clock to
indicate connection.
c)Pages do not load.

Please help.

You need two things to support a drive that large:

1. A motherboard with a BIOS and controller that supports 48-bit LBA (or
alternatively, an add-in controller card that does).

2. At least SP1 of Windows XP.

You are missing at least one of them.
