After installing Office XP SP3 I get a popup message
telling me "A Program is trying to access e-mail
addresses" everytime I compose a new email. This is very
annoying and a step that shouldn't be necessary.
There isn't a way to uninstall SP3 that I can find. Any
help would be appreciated.

Outlook 2002 SP3 adds additional properties to the list of those that are
affected by the security features. As a result, one of your add-ins needs
updated to the latest version - antispam add-ins are a common cause
although others are affected by the changes as well. Many add-ins were
updated following the release of Outlook 2003 and should work with SP3, if
not you'll need to contact the vendor for a newer version.

To learn how to program around the new properties (which is needed for the
macros to work with OL2003 too) see http://www.outlookcode.com/d/sec.htm

IHateSpam released an update by 6PM Thursday - look for links on their
support page. Cloudmark is working on an update - I assume Norton will have
one soon too.

The only COM add-ins I have installed is the PST backup -
tried disabling but get the same results; not running any
Macros or Forms; Security is set to Medium. We use
Exchange and a mail Sweeper to process emails and block
SPAM. Any other ideas?

Finally found a solution: I uninstalled HOTBAR and a few
other ActiveX Apps that were not needed. I dont' get the
Popup window anymore. Outlook is back to normal.
Many thanks to Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] for her
assistance.

Hello,

I had a problem with SP3 after I installed it, mail would
not leave my outbox. I could get mail in, but nothing I
sent would be delivered.

The way I uninstalled it was to just do a restore from a
previous restore point before I installed the patch.

Hope that helps you,

Lynda

Having Same problem here with the only add-in that I know of is the
Autobackup PST. I saw you remove hotbar and someother things to fix this.
How do I find out if anything else is add-in? We have no anti-spam running
