Accidentally, I changed permission types of a folder while I was logged in as
an 'Administrator'; I denied all permission types of all users including an
'Administrator'. And I got unable to access that folder any more even as an
'Administrator'.

If there is any way to access that folder again, please help me and advise me.

Thank you.

Have you tried restoring to a previous restore point?

If you go in the "security" tab of your folder, then click on "Advanced"
in the new page go to the "owner" tab you can take control over the folder
if your an administrator (sometimes you need to be in the local administrator
account)

after that you can add account and groups in the "security" tab

Unfortunately, I just do not use the system restoration.
I mean, I deactivated that option and I cannot restore the system.
Frankly, I didn't know that there is such an option.

Thank you anyway. That's all my fault.

I have done what you said before. But at that time, after I took the control
over the folder, I just tried to change the permission types of existing
users and it didn't work.

As you said, I think I have to try to 'add' new accounts and groups tomorrow.
(I'm on a business trip now.)

Thank you very much.
Hope this works.

If you are the administrator you can add yourself then give yourself
the permissions that you need. Since the Administrator has no rights
to the folder at present, you cannot change existing permissions.

Cheers,

Thank you very much all of you.
It works. I really appreciate.

I added a new account and gave all the permission of the folder to that
account.
Then I logged in again as the new account and I finally got able to read
that folder again.
That was really cool. The folder was really important to me.

Anyway, thank you everybody.
