Problem with XP

My laptop won't let me logon. When I enter my admistrative password I get the
message "This sytem does not allow you to logon interactively". I put in the
OS system disc and can get as far as the repair console with admistrative
ability but only to look at what looks like DOS. I know I need to take
control of my computer but everywhere I have looked it says I have to get
admistrative acess. I can only get admistrative acess thru the repair
console. Can someone please help?
