problem with xp home update, help

I installed updates for microsoft xp home edition today,
and now when I start up I'm given the message that
windows is disabling one of the programs installed by the
update because it will make the system unstable.
The following is the Device it's disabling and the reason
it gives for disabling it.

I'm confused about why I would receive an update that
would make my system unstable and what I need to do to
take care of this permanently without possibly messing up
something else. Thanks...any help would be great here!
