hello everyone :) ,

My computer would not turn on, just did three beeps. I reasearched it
and found it could be ram or more likely the video card. So I got a
new stick of ram and ruled that out. Still had the problem. So I
changed the video card. I replaced it with a dual monitor card to
get it working again. And now it starts up and goes to the log in
screen and I try to log in, and the background pops up but then after
one or two seconds it says logging off. Does anyone have an idea to
what could be the problem? Thanks.

Before xp loads up you can try pressing f8 and going into safe mode.
Then uninstall the old video card drivers. When you reboot, install the
new video card drivers.

All exploit patches applied? sounds like that 'services' virus.. I
don't think a 'driver' would cause a
' logging off-shutting down' display screen

I really dont think it is a virus problem. Now that I think of it, my
online gaming seemed to be getting really choppy and inconsistant. I
think that was signs of the video card going bad. Im going to buy a
cheap video card and see if that fixes the problem. As far as safe
mode...it wouldn't even get there. Same for the repair mode using
the xp cd. I may really be in a hard space. :x

You said you already replaced the graphics card. Are you going to try a
third card in there now?

you really don't think, I C ok then it must not have a virus. Have
you actually run an antivirus?
