Hi
I have a problem. I got hit with some nasty adware, or
something, and although I've cleaned the computer, I still
have a very odd problem: I, the system admin., can not run
things like "msconfig", because, as the error message
says, there are restrictions placed on my computer, and
that I should contact the admin. I was able to create
another admin account, (after cleaning the system), from
which I can access anything I want, but my old account
appears to be broken, and I want to know how I can fix it.

thanks,
alex

Hi Alex,

Regarding your post below, you mention that you were able to create a new
Admin account from which you can access anything, and that from your
original Admin account there are certain programs that you cannot run due
to restrictions. You would like to fix the old account.

Please review the following for more troubleshooting:

OTHER IDEAS:
Have you tried removing the non-working Admin account and then recreating
it? You would only attempt this while being logged in with the working/new
Admin account you created recently.
