Our little brother installed xp on his computer with our
dad's copy, so activation is made impossible. He didn't
realize that it can only be one one PC. The thirty day
grace period has gone and now we cant even rever to 98.
How can we do that or get another license for that copy?

A-aron;
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu.
Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
Select Windows XP.
Follow the prompts to revert to the previous OS.
If the proper files were not saved or any of several things, that
option may not be available.
In that case:

Is the version of win 98 a full copy or an upgrade?

If it is a full version... make a backup of the hard drive in question by
placing that in the other machine, reformat the hard drive from within that
same computer, next do a clean install of 98 once you place the hard drive
back into the othe system..

If it is an upgrade... see if you have 95 available and follow the same step
as above.

Hope this helps... probably someone out their might find an easier way.
