Hi All,

I'm having a problem with my home PC which is running
Win2k pro. The problem is that when it boots (right after
the progress bar finishes loading), a blue screen with a
few lines of text pops up only for a moment, and then the
system shuts down and goes into a next restart. It
happens so fast that I can't even capture the error on the
blue screen. When the problem first occurred, it took
about 3-4 restarts until the login screen finally popped
up. But today, it took 8-10 times to have to have the
login screen shown. I need help!

- What kind of problem am I dealing with here?
- Some sort of virus? I think it's currently running
SP3. Going to apply the SP4 to see if it would help.
- How would I capture the error? I've tried everything I
know of to pause the screen, but nothing worked. I've
also tried looking into windows logs (after I had a chance
to log in) but no luck in doing that.
- Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nathan

Try to do a windows update on microsoft.com, download
all the latest security updates and also the SP4. After
downloading all the critical updates run a virus scan if
you have any, make sure that you do a live update first
before scanning so it can detect the latest virus in your
computer if there's any...
