Hey. I installed a program called optimum XP, and then uninstalled it
about an hour later. The program was registry tweaks. Since then, my
Start Menu's drag and drop feature has been disabled. I know there's a
setting out there to fix it, but for the life of me, I can't rember
where. If you could email me or reply here, that would be great. Thx.

XP Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button | Advanced tab |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
OK | OK

Classic Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
OK | OK

[[Specifies whether you can drag items to the Start
menu.]] Also disables right click menu if UNChecked.

No Such option exist in under the Advancedd tab. I'm thinking maybe that
program modified(or deleted!) a required resistry value. Sure hope not,
though.

Hey. Got it going by merging an old backup of my registry. Wow - knew
that daily reg backups were going to actually come in handy some day.

For Classic Start Menu
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

For New Start Menu
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Click "Advanced" tab and enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

If the option Enable Dragging and Dropping is not available, it's due to a
policy setting

Unable to right-click on the folders or shortcuts in the Start Menu:
