Problem with some Exe (Installation) files

Hi,
I have a WinXP, PIII, 1GHz system. Some of the Installation files,
for example Opera 9.10 setup, that I download from internet does not
run at all at this system, while it will work fine at other WinXP
systems.

Any help will be appreciated

Does clearing the %temp% folder help, or does running the setup from Safe mode.
