Problem with scripts

Hello. I'm using Outlook 2002, on a WinXP SP2 system.

A new problem has arisen, and I can't figure out why it's happening. When I
try to open a link from a webpage, I get an error message: "An error has
occurred in the script on this page." It then gives a line number, etc.

I don't recall seeing this error before. It happens when I used the search
engine at www.killerinfo.com, which I like very much. It doesn't happen
when I use google.

Odd stuff. Do I contact the killerinfo people to find out what's happening,
or is there some other way to diagnose the problem? Thanks.
 
do you have a second computer to test it on? do you get the error if you
paste the url in the browser? is the url 'broken' and missing some
parameters?

if it works in a cut and paste, then something is not getting passed when
you click in outlook - if it works on another machine, then a patch on the
first one is blocking something from the site - but unless you have
permission to edit it, you'll need to contact them.

outlook blocks some things for security - but the script should be on the
server and loaded in the browser, so outlook shouldn't have an effect,
unless you are trying to use Outlook as a browser.

Your last comment hits home -- yes, I'm using Outlook as a browser. Is this
a problem?

For the record, the script error occurs any time I click on any link that is
found using the killerinfo.com search engine. It's very consistent.

yes, outlook has some additional security restrictions when you are using
it's shell as a browser. If there isn't an error in IE then the problem is
on your side - you'll need to use IE for searches.

Outlook is an e-mail client and is geared for that use. It is not a browser
despite the ability to view web pages within it. Due to nasties in
HTML-formatted e-mails that spammers, scammers, and malcontents have used,
Outlook will block many advanced functions of HTML. If you want to browse,
use a browser.
