I installed a new computer with XP Professsional this
morning and all is working well except that when I connect
to the internet my computer shutsdown after 5-10 mins
online. An error message comes up that
says "NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM is shutting down computer because
the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service was terminated
unexpectedly."

I can't believe that is this is due to a virus because the
computer did this the first time it connected to the net.
The only sites I have been trying to visit are Microsoft
sites to get registered and get vital updates but I can't
get to them because it keeps shutting down. I have also
installed a virus checker and it couldn't find anything
bad. Please help I've been trying for 6 hours!

It appears you have the blaster virus. See:

It appears your computer has been infected with the Blaster virus. An
unprotected computer can pick up this virsue very quickly.
