Problem with Network connections display

OK,

Here is a really strange one. If I open the Network connections window, the
titles are truncated to only one letter.

The sections of the window are listed as 1, C, L, S. I have actually
forgotten what they should say, but the network seems to work fine and the
information under these titles is displayed properly, except for the title.
What could possibly cause this? SFC /scannow had no effect nor did changing
the screen resolution.

Ideas anyone?

David

Hi,

Would you please take a screen shot to make your status clearly?

I suspect the connection name is truncated and I'd like to suggest you try
to rename the connection to see the results.

Meanwhile,to configure these setting via the registry, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-1
1CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\{GUID of Adapter}\Connection

To rename Local Area Connection, change the data string of the Name value
name.

Hope it helps and letting me know your exactly problem.

Hi,

From the screen shot, it appears that you arranged the icon by name. To
change it, please right-click at anywhere and select "Arrange Icon by" to
select another option.

Hope it helps.

Thanks! I never realized that arrange by name would elicit that kind of
behavior. Selecting arrange by type fixed it up.

Thanks again, David
