Problem with motorola modem drivers in winxp and win2000

when ever i install motorolla sm56pci modem drivers in windows xp or 2000 . system hangs . when i click on shutdown the system . the system restarts and starts with scan disk. as all changes become undone
if anybody has solution with this problem .do mail me at (e-mail address removed)
 
The modem that you have mentioned is not compatable with XP . Buy another
modem. Jym

Right you are traci ! Motorola got out of the modem business when XP was
being developed and no driver was designed. (I have one in the closet due to
no XP driver) .But they have them now , go figure. Jym
