Well, I have been having a problem lately with my browser and have no clue how to fix it. It seems when I click on a link(that says to open in a new window from a application, like an e-mail message in Outlook Express) nothing happens. I generally just have to copy/paste the url manually. Thanks for any help!

1. Click Start, click Run
2. Type the following commands in the Run dialog box, and click OK (or hit
ENTER) after each command (noting the space between the 2 and the next letter):
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll

Thanks for the reply, but none of those seem to help. It appears that the problem is this this article, "Nothing Happens After You Click a Link"

I had some programs shortcuts lead directly to internet locations on the web, but when you double-click them nothing happens.. same that happens when I click a link in Outlook Express. I tried all that stuff shown in the article, but nothing fixed it. One thing I dunno how to do though is check for the registry thing it was showing. Thanks for any further help!

Hi Ryan, Open up the registry editor, Start, Run, then type: Regedit

Look for the keys mentioned in the article, example I just exported this key
from the registry

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{79eac9e0-baf9-11ce-8c82-00aa004ba90b}\InprocServer32]
@="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\urlmon.dll"
"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going
edit>new.

Well, I can get into the editor.. but I have no clue what to do from here. I tried searching for this string, "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} " and it does not find anything(well just say's finished searching the registry, but nothing happens). How do I add the 3 registry entries? I do not know where to even put them.. Thanks again!

Ryanw, please get a friend to assist you in troubleshooting your problem. The
registry is no place to be if you don't know what you're doing.
