PROBLEM WITH JAVA SUN

Have recently downloaded Windows XP Professional on my
computer and am having difficulty in installing Java
Sun. I have successfully downloaded the file but when
the Wizard runs through the installation it sends an
error message saying update not compatible with my
version of Windows 2000. As Windows 2000 not running, can
anyone help with this problem.
