Problem with IE menus after installing excel macros

I have created a excel Macro, that formats a predefined
csv file. The macro loads and works ok in Excel, however if you open the csv
file with in the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE 6.0) parts of the IE menu
becomes inactive. Nothing happens when you select the Edit, View, Insert,
Format, Tools, and Data edit menu options however the File, goto, Favorites
and help menu options are working OK. This is strange as it works on a few
computers with the exact same software and patches installed.

I would be grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction to
resolve the problem.

Thanks

Michael

Any chance that the users are opening the .csv file in excel proper--not excel
embedded within MSIE?

From a previous post:

There's a setting in Windows that you can change.

In win98, I can do this:
Start Windows Explorer
View|Folder Options
File Types Tab
scroll down to MS Excel Worksheet
Select it
click the edit button
There's an option to "browse in same window". Uncheck it.

That's where you can toggle the "confirm open after download", too.
