I recently bought a firewire cam (ibot) but for some
reason it won't start.
I keep getting a message sayin device not plugged in or
make sure it is not being used by another program.

I can see the cam thru Explorer but that's it.
My machine recognizes it but now preview.

Running windows XP service pack 2 second release
256mb nvidia card with firewire
and 1 gig of memory.

Any suggsetions?

Thanks

Hello,I have WindowsXP Home SP1 and the iBot installed without
problem.1: See if the iBot is listed in Windows Movie Maker, video
devices. 2: Can you use another Firewire port? If you can unplug the
iBot shut down and restart the system then plug iBot into another
port, see if Windows finds new hardware and reinstalls the drivers.
3:If the installation disk came with the iBot you might consider
uninstalling and then installing the drivers from the disk. I know
WindowsXP has generic drivers for the iBot but do not know if changes
were made by SP2. Orangemicro.com should have drivers to download.
Take Care.
