Problem with "hide on next mouse click"

I'm using PPT 2000.
I have 3 objects on my slide.
Each one is comprised of 2 objects and each pair is a group, thus the 3
objects.
I have them all set with the "zoom" effect.
In the order and timing it's group 1, group 2, group 3.
Each one is set to automatically start the animation after 2 seconds.
Each one is set to "hide on next mouse click".

The problem is they don't hide, they remain on the screen. Last night
when I created the slide it worked perfectly today when I took it to work
and tried it on my pc at work it didn't hide. I've brought it home tonight
and it doesn't work on my home computer now.
I should tell you also the objects are just a triangle, from
Autoshapes/drawing tool bar, and some text. No gifs, or anything just three
traingles with text inside each one.
Can anyone tell me what might be wrong or what I should try?
BTW, I'm pretty new at PPT so if my terminology isn't correct I apologize.
I'd like this slide to work and I'm running out of time.
Thanks for your help,
Don..............

I"ve figured it out. I did have a fourth object in the slide. It was a
gif. An animated arrow that would appear after the slide was finished. I
used it to indicated to the viewer to move to the next slide. I have this
same arrow in every slide in the presentation. Last night when everything
was working I probably hadn't inserted the arrow at that point. Now that
I've taken the animated arrow out of the slide everything works as it
should. Seems to me it should work even with the arrow in it but I can work
around that little problem.
Thanks for reading and listening,
Don.........

Hi,

It should still work. I tried several variations and they worked everytime.
the only thing I can figure is there must be something about the particular
Arrow.gif file that you're using. Even when I set the animated.gif file to
appear After Previous automatically, it worked on my PC. There is only one
snafu that I know of regarding Hide on mouse click:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q235622&id=235622&SD=MSKB

If you're using PPT2000 or higher the animated.gif file should work
appropritely.

My apologies, I went back and recreated in PPT2000 and you are correct, when
using an animated.gif on the slide, objects do not hide on next animation
(hide on next mouse click). It appears you've found one of those odd little
bugs. FYI, it does work correctly in PPT2003.

Thanks,
Glenna
