Hello Everybody,

I need your help with my quiet new pc.

I switched on the option "powercfg -h on" to get the hibernate mode,
but everytime I want to use the mode then, the computer restarts.

When I use the "Energy save" mode with "powercfg -h off" everything
works fine.

I don't know, where I can find the error.

I have a PCI Express card for a hdd raid system in my computer.
Could this be the reason? Have I to mind something for this
configuration?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings
Marc

Check what power modes your computer supports and make sure you have the
BIOS set to match what you want.
powercfg -a

I solved something similar by going into Device Manager, right clicking
every device, and - where offered - unchecking every instance of "Allow this
device to wake the computer".

Yes, I know we're talking about hibernation rather than sleep, but it's
probably worth a try.

Hi,

thanks for your help.

Check what power modes your computer supports and make sure you have the
BIOS set to match what you want.
powercfg -a

This shows, that everything but not Standby (S2) is available.
The Bios supports also S1 and S3. In both modes the computer restarts
with powercfg -h on.

Steve made a suggestion, and add to that the BIOS. Especially, wake on USB
(particularly when you have a wireless keyboard and/or mouse)
