I am running an Asus p4pDeluxe with WIn XP Pro.wuth a P4 2.4 gb 8oo mhz bus

I have two ATA Had Drives installed. The Primary one is a Western Digital
160 GB. The operating system is only recognizing 120 GB. How do I make the
otgher 40 GB avaiklable?

Some hard drives (Maxtor for sure) have a "LIMIT" jumper
that keeps the accessable size less than the maximum
size. OR . . . the drive may be partitioned, the other
40Gb part showing up as the D drive . . .

Same problem here. XP with SP1a fixes this problem.
I've tried contacting Microsoft about it and get
either "buy a new version" right!! get stuffed.... or the
other answer "yes we know how to fix that problem but we
have to send you on on a level 2 technical support
person, it will cost $50 and you have to sign a waiver
signing you life away" Again get stuffed.

If anyone has a legal, sensible and easy solution please
post to my email address. I run on only 1 HDD so no
install on one, download patches then fdisk the other.

I've had the typical dislike for microsoft just on
hearsay but after many years of paying them for operating
systems and for the first time trying to get a problem
fixed, to get this responce!! I'll not being paying for
another microsoft product, at least if I don't pay I wont
mind not getting any support.

Hey on the call to the suport line where they told me to
pay for the answer, they were conducting a survey on
customer satisfaction etc, I bet it will never get
emailed to me. But on the bright side I'll probably get
spam from it.
