problem with flash drive and usb port

i have windows xp. I tested my lexar 1 gb flash drive on 2 pcs. worked fine.
I plug it into any of my 4 USB ports on my PC at home and its not recognized
at all. how do i trouble shoot this?

Device Manager, System, Hardware (Tab), Device Manager,
Click View, tic "Show Hidden Devices". Check for the existence
of the flash drive in "Disk Drives, & Universal Serial Bus controllers
(As Mass Storage Device). Make sure you have no "Other" category
or any device shown with a Yellow exclamation point or Red X.
(Which indicates driver issues or device is disabled).
Also check the System Event log to see if the problem is related to
Plug & Play, Removable Storage or other similar types of system
services that are necessary to recognize the device.
