When I try to install Final Fantasy XI, I keep getting
error message 1911 when I first put in the 3rd disk. can
anyone tell me what that means, and how to fix it?

Hi Warren,

I would run the cleanup wizard and empty the recycle bin
(Right click your drive in My Computer to run the wizard).
Don't run your antivirus software during installation. Only
use it to scan the media before you start installing.

If you continue to have issues, you may need to set DMA:

The screenshots in this article will demonstrate how to enable
or disable DMA for your drives in device manager, by editing
the advanced properties of the channel they are connected to:
http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/howto-05.html

If your system is using IAA (Intel Application Accelerator), then
that ability will not be available while that software is installed.
You can verify if you have it installed via Control Panel / Add -
Remove programs, and uninstall it if necessary. Hope this helps! :-)

Warren,

I remember hearing about a problem with Disc 3 during the
beta test, which prompted Square to redistribute Disc 3 to
any of the testers who asked for it. Supposedly the problem
was fixed, but I guess not. The only advice I can give is
to try another CD-ROM drive.
