Problem With Cleansweep--Need Help

I recently installed Norton Systemworks Pro 2003 but am having a problem
getting Cleansweep to uninstall programs.

The other components seem to be working okay. I installed the update and still
have a problem. When I try to uninstall, the program starts analyzing files
and then I get an error message: "Symantec Integrator has encounted a problem"
and the program stops.

I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. I'm using Windows XP Home
Edition and have upgraded the compatability patch.

Is anyone using Cleansweep and are you having the same problem? Does anyone
have any suggestions on how to solve mine?

The error report that Microsoft generates refers to a Comet Cursor and I tried
removing it but then got the error message that it couldn't be found. So what
is it? I previously used Cleansweep and really like the program. Symantec's
website tech support is no help whatsoever and I don't want to pay for help for
a program that won't run right in the first place.

Looking for help.

Thanks in advance.

I stopped using Clean Sweep in the mid 90's because it always caused more
problems than it solved.

(snip)

I'll be even more blunt than Crusty (probably a first!) - uninstall that
piece of cr*p. It is a Bad Program and will cause Tears Before Bedtime.
Get rid of it immediately.

Perhaps you might have an older version that may or may not work in Xp.

Here's an alternative, download a "free" Uninstaller called "My Uninstaller"
at the following site.

http://nirsoft.mirrorz.com/

This is a stand-alone app (only 27 Kb download zip file), no installation
nor any DLL installed onto your pc.

It provides rich details about the program that's being uninstalled, such as
its vendor, its product version, its Web site, when it was installed, and
the folder it resides in. The utility also lets you uninstall programs "not"
removed properly by Windows' Add/Remove Programs.

Oops, didn't read your original post carefully, sounds like you have a
fairly new version of Symantec SystewWorks suite.

As for Comet Cursor, some others had success in using Ad-Aware or Spybot
Search and Destroy utilities (both are free) to remove Comet Cursor. Do a
Google search for either of these free software website to download.
