PowerPoint 2003 - I have created a bar chart, and originally had data
in 3 category axis'. I deleted 2 categories, and now only have one.
Yet my bars are still squashed to the left side of chart, instead of
spreading out. I am lost - please advise if you know how to fix this.
Thanks!!

PPT's plotting the empty cells as 0. Go to View/Datasheet, select the empty
cells on the datasheet, and hit Ctrl+X to cut. This will cut them from the
plot, and the remaining data should spread out.

If that's not the problem, it could be that you need to choose Data/Series
in Columns instead of the default, which is Data/Series in Rows.

assuming you created the bar chart in graph... Even if you deleted the
content of the row/column, Graph still thinks that row/column is in use. To
get it to realize that you aren't using that row/column, select it and hit
the delete key. Your graph should be much less grumpy now :)

(who really needs to get around to putting her signature file on her tablet
one of these days)

After reading Kathy's post, I realized I wasn't clear here -- I should have
specified that you need to cut (or delete) the actual column, not just the
empty cells.

Thanks, Kathy!
