Hello all,

I have a big problem with the alternate configuration of
IP address on my PC. I have a Compaq Evo N610c with
Windows XP. Into my company, I am connected to a LAN with
a DHCP server and I have configured my general IP address
to be compliant with the LAN. But sometime, I need to be
connected to a TCP/IP device point to point with a cross
over ethernet cable. To do this connection, I have
configured an alternate TCP/IP address. The problem
occurs when I disconnect the PC from the LAN and I
connect it to the device. It takes a long time to take
into account the alternate IP address and when the new
address is used, the TCP/IP stack seems to be out of
order : for example, if I try to launch IPCONFIG tool,
the following error number is displayed : 0xC0000142. And
many other application doesn't work correctly anymore and
the same error number is displayed. The only solution is
to restart my computer.

Could somebody help me please ?

Thanks !!
